BIO
Born in Athens, George Siougas is a film director with proven commercial success. His debut feature "MILK" (also known as "BURNING HEADS") was hailed by Academy Award-winning director Costa-Gavras as "the best film coming out of Greece this decade." The film received an expanded theatrical release following exceptional pre-release reviews.
Most recently, George's short film "THE ONE NOTE MAN" has achieved remarkable international recognition, earning Oscar and BAFTA shortlists whilst collecting 61 awards globally, including 34 Best Short Film awards and 12 Best Director honours. The film stars BAFTA winner Jason Watkins with Ian McKellen's voice and a score by Oscar winner Stephen Warbeck.
Since relocating to the UK in 2015, George has established himself as a leading television director across all major British networks. His work spans high-end continuing dramas including multiple BAFTA-nominated episodes of "CASUALTY" and award-winning runs on "CORONATION STREET," "EMMERDALE" and "HOLLYOAKS." His television portfolio demonstrates consistent delivery of ratings success and critical acclaim across comedy and drama formats.
George is currently developing "A MUSICAL MAN," a feature film expansion of "THE ONE NOTE MAN," and is attached to direct three additional feature projects.
